Find campsites along your route or on the map
Say you live in Utrecht and want to tow your caravan to the Dordogne at the end of May, but not in one long day. Enter your start and your holiday destination and set the search radius around your route to 25 km. Caravanios then shows you the campsites along the way. For each one, you see the detour and where it lies on your route. Pick the ones that suit you, and they become the stops of your trip.
You can find campsites along your route even without an account. With a free account you can also filter the list, for example by power or by the sea. More filters are part of Pro, the paid subscription of Caravanios (see the end of this page).

Trip
Turn your route into a camping trip
You can save what you found as a route plan or as a trip. A route plan keeps your start, your destination and the campsites you picked, even before you know your dates. A trip can do everything a route plan can, and adds dates, travellers, costs and moments. Moments are the short notes and photos you take on the road.
The people you travel with are your camping group. You invite them in the app, and everyone sees the same trip. Travelling alone? Then your camping group is just you. Add what you pay along the way, and you can split the costs of a camping trip fairly at the end.
Getting ready
Get ready to leave with a departure check and packing list
Before you leave, two lists help you. The packing list is for what comes along. The departure check is the list your camping group goes through together before you set off. It covers things like the gas, the water hose and the hook-up cable.
Your packing list is personal to you. You keep your usual items in your packing template. For each trip, you tap “Use your template” and pick the items you need this time.
The departure check has a template too, which you set up once for your camping group. On each trip, one tap copies the template into that trip’s departure check, ready to tick off. On the road
Open your next stop in Apple Maps or your maps app
On a day you drive, Caravanios shows you the next stop with its dates. On iPhone, tap “Open in Apple Maps”. On Android, tap “Open in Maps” and choose the app you want.
Caravanios hands over the next stop and leaves the driving directions to your maps app.
After your trip
After your trip: moments and a recap
Along the way, you capture moments: a line of text, the date and, if you like, a photo. Back home, you pick your favourites and turn them into a recap that brings the trip back. It has a cover photo, a few words of your own and the moments you chose.
Caravanios counts the kilometres, nights and countries you have travelled. After each trip it shows what was new for you, like your first time in a country. More on moments and the recap of a trip.
Your vehicle
A camping app for your motorhome, caravan or van
Add your vehicle once: a car, caravan, van, motorhome or something else. Type the make or model, and Caravanios suggests matches from the vehicle catalogue. You pick one vehicle for each trip. Sold your caravan? Archive it, and restore it whenever you like.
Each vehicle has its own gear, from levelling ramps to the cable reel, so it is ready for the next trip. You can see what is on board and what is still at home. You can keep a gear list for each vehicle.
What is free, and what is Pro?
Pro is the paid subscription of Caravanios. One subscription covers everyone in your camping group. Here is what you get without an account, with a free account and with Pro.
Without an account, you can search for campsites along a route up to 50 times a day; running the same search again does not count. You cannot filter or save anything yet. To save, you sign in with Apple, Google or your email address and a code.
A free account gives you the same 50 searches a day, and you can save what you find. It adds three free filters: power; showers and toilets; and by the sea. You can start three new trips in any 30 days and keep ten route plans, and archived plans do not count. Each vehicle holds 40 gear items, and your camping group can add 5 moment photos. On iPhone and iPad, the campsite map is free too, and you can open the details of 20 campsites an hour.
Pro lifts these limits. You can search as often as you like and use all filters, such as by a lake, dogs and Wi-Fi. You can start as many new trips as you need and keep up to 300 route plans. Each vehicle holds 250 gear items and gets a photo, and your camping group can add more moment photos. On iPhone and iPad, you can open the details of as many campsites as you like. On Android, the campsite map is part of Pro.
Common questions
Can I book campsites through Caravanios?
No. Caravanios shows you campsites and their details, including whether you can book online or on request. You book directly with the campsite.
Which languages does Caravanios speak?
German and English. The app follows the language of your device; if your device uses another language, Caravanios shows German.
Where can I get Caravanios?
On the App Store for iPhone and iPad, and on Google Play for Android. You can use Caravanios from Europe: every EU country and, among others, Switzerland, Norway and the United Kingdom. Signing in is not possible from other countries.
