Caravanios Camping App
Terms of Use
These terms cover how you use Caravanios: the route finder, trips, camping groups, trip budgets, public trip links, Pro and the public website at app.caravanios.com.
This is a complete English translation provided for convenience. The German Terms of Use are the contractual version and German is the contract language. Mandatory consumer protections remain unaffected.

1. Provider and contact
Caravanios is operated by Philip Ullmann, Bürgerstrasse 22, 4300 St. Valentin, Austria (Legal Notice). For support, complaints and questions about these terms, email kontakt@caravanios.com. The contract language is German; this English text gives you the complete content in English but does not change that language rule.
2. What these terms cover
They apply to the Caravanios apps for iOS and Android, the app API, invitation and trip links, the support and privacy forms, and the public pages at app.caravanios.com.
The rules of the store you install from or purchase through also apply — App Store or Google Play. Store rules govern purchase, download, cancellation and refunds, subject to mandatory Austrian consumer law.
For the iOS app: this agreement is between you and us, not Apple. To the extent permitted by law, we are responsible for app content, maintenance and support; Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support. Apple and its affiliates can enforce the applicable App Store licence rules as third-party beneficiaries where those rules provide for this.
3. What Caravanios is — and is not
Caravanios helps you plan camping trips: the route finder and campsite discovery along the route (guest use possible without an account), trips with stops and notes, trip budgets with expenses, splits and recorded settlements, camping groups with vehicles, inventory and checklists, public trip links, notifications and Pro features.
Caravanios is not a travel organiser, campsite operator, booking platform, payment service, insurer, legal-advice service or proprietary turn-by-turn navigation system. No booking, reservation or payment contract with a campsite or other third party is concluded through Caravanios.
4. Accounts and guest use
You can try the route finder and a route draft without an account. Saving, synchronising, camping groups, Pro and push notifications require an account.
Keep your credentials safe and do not pass them on. Contact support if you suspect misuse.
Caravanios is intended for adult camping travellers. A minor may use the app only with approval from their legal representative.
5. Shared trip, group and budget data
You are responsible for making sure the content you add is lawful and that you may use it — trip titles, stops, notes, images, vehicle data, lists, group names, expenses and support messages.
Authorised members of a camping group or trip can see and edit the shared data as the app permits, so invite only people who should have that access. The trip budget is part of the shared trip context: expenses, payers, splits, balances and settlements are visible to authorised trip members. Travellers without their own account can be included in the budget as well.
A settlement in Caravanios records a payment that happened outside the app. We do not move money and do not verify that it was actually paid. Budget FX shows a reference conversion with a rate date and source.
Anyone holding an active public trip link sees the published snapshot until you disable the link or it expires: without a refresh, a public trip link ends on its own 90 days after it was created. The public snapshot contains no private notes, no camping-group member email addresses, no budget data such as costs, balances or settlements, no checklists and no inventory. Share such links deliberately and disable them when they should no longer be reachable.
Do not publish another person's personal data, unlawful content, or anything you lack sufficient rights to, in trip titles, stop names, images or other shareable content.
6. What you must not do
- add or share unlawful, abusive, threatening or harassing content;
- publish another person's personal data without authority or expose it through a public trip link;
- use images, marks or text without sufficient rights;
- add special-category data that is unnecessary for trip planning, such as health data or information about children;
- spam, scrape, run automated bulk queries, reverse engineer, or attack the app, API or infrastructure;
- circumvent limits, Pro entitlements, authentication, invitations or rate limits;
- use Caravanios for commercial fleet management, resale or data brokerage without our agreement.
7. Routes, maps and safety
Routes, travel times, campsite information, opening dates, prices, amenities and map displays can be incomplete, outdated or wrong. Some of it comes from external datasets, routing services, map providers and reports from other users.
Before and during a trip, check for yourself whether the road, bridge, tunnel, ferry, environmental zone, campsite, access, vehicle height, weight, length, towing rules and local rules suit your vehicle. Caravanios does not replace attention on the road or checks on site. If you open a route in an external map or navigation app, that provider's data and terms apply.
Keep and check important trip information outside the app as well — booking confirmations, addresses, contact details and emergency information. Caravanios is an organisational aid and must not be your only source.
8. Pro and purchases through the store
Caravanios is free to use and additionally offers a paid Pro tier. Which features, price, period and limits apply is shown in the app and in the store before you buy.
The store, not Caravanios, is the seller of the Pro subscription. The purchase contract is concluded with Apple or Google, who handle price, tax, payment, renewal, cancellation and refunds. We receive only a transaction identifier and use it to ask the store whether the entitlement applies. The statutory right of withdrawal for the purchase is therefore owed by the store; refunds and statutory withdrawal rights are handled through Apple or Google.
Subscriptions can renew automatically depending on the store and the product you chose. If you do not want that, cancel in the store in good time before the period ends; uninstalling Caravanios does not cancel an active store subscription. Purchases can be restored in the app.
If Pro is enabled for a camping group, eligible members of that group who use the app can receive the entitlement — not automatically every other group a person belongs to. The subscription continues to be managed by whoever bought it. The relevant store confirms the product, price and billing period it displays.
Existing content remains visible where possible when a limit is reached or Pro ends. Creating new content, shares, uploads or exports may nevertheless require deleting older content, waiting for a time window, or having Pro active.
9. Availability, updates and notifications
We aim for reliable operation but do not owe uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, security measures, store reviews, third parties or network problems can restrict features temporarily.
We provide the updates needed to keep Caravanios usable in accordance with the contract, including security updates, and inform you about them for as long as you use the app as the contract provides. If you do not install an update we provided, we are not liable for defects that arise from that alone.
We can develop, change or remove features where there is an objective reason. We inform you about material changes in an appropriate way. Some functions require an up-to-date app version, a supported operating system, internet access and, depending on the case, notification or location permissions.
If your app version falls below the minimum build we set, we block it entirely for security and compatibility reasons: the app then shows an update prompt and cannot be used further until you update.
Push notifications, reminders and trip prompts are planning aids. They can arrive late, more than once or not at all. Do not rely on them for safety-relevant decisions. You control them in the app and in your device settings.
10. Rights in the app and your content
Caravanios, its design, software, texts, marks and logos remain our property or that of the respective rights holders. You receive a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use the app under these terms.
Your trips, notes, images, budget and vehicle data remain your content. You grant us the rights we need to provide the app: storing, processing, synchronising, displaying, making available to authorised members, backing up, adapting technically and delivering a public link you activate.
11. Reporting unlawful content
Report unlawful or abusive content, public trip links, invitations or accounts to kontakt@caravanios.com. That address is also our point of contact for users and authorities under the Digital Services Act; the languages of communication are German and English. Describe the content, link or account as precisely as you can and give your reason.
We do not review content before publication. Reported or noticed content is checked manually; we do not use automated moderation.
Depending on the circumstances, we can remove content, disable public links, revoke invitations, restrict features because of misuse, legal risk or security incidents, or suspend accounts. When we act on your report or against your content, we tell you what we did and why. You can ask by email for the decision to be reviewed again.
12. Privacy and account deletion
What we do with personal data is described in the Privacy Notice.
You can delete your account in the app or send a deletion request through Data Deletion and Privacy Requests. Deleting your account does not cancel an active store subscription — cancel it in the store as well.
13. Ending use and termination
You can stop at any time, uninstall the app and delete your account. Disable public links and invitations first if they should no longer be reachable.
We can terminate the contract or restrict features for good cause, for example serious or repeated breaches, misuse, security risks, legal duties or discontinuation of the service.
In shared trips, budget records can still be required by other authorised trip members. In those cases we remove or separate the account reference instead of deleting the shared budget history entirely.
14. Liability
Our liability follows Austrian law. Liability that cannot lawfully be excluded remains unaffected.
For damage to property and financial loss caused by slight negligence, our liability is excluded to the extent that an exclusion is permitted. Not excluded are personal injury, intent and gross negligence, and liability under the Product Liability Act — an exclusion there would be void against consumers under section 6(1)(9) KSchG.
Stores, maps, routing, campsite information, devices, networks and other third-party content are the responsibility of the respective providers; we are liable for them only where their conduct is attributable to us under Austrian law. Statutory warranty, consumer and product liability rights are not restricted by this section.
15. Changes to these terms
We can update these terms when the app, store rules, legal requirements or technical processes change. The current version is available at /en/terms, with the German contractual version at /de/terms.
We inform you about material changes in an appropriate way. Where prior information is legally required or the change materially affects your use, we inform you before it takes effect, name the date and point out your options — for example ending your use or deleting your account. Where Austrian law requires express consent, we obtain it separately.
16. Governing law and dispute resolution
Where a choice of law is permitted, Austrian law applies. Mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of habitual residence and statutory places of jurisdiction for consumers remain unaffected.
In a dispute, please contact kontakt@caravanios.com first so that we can look for a direct solution. Unless we are legally required to, we do not take part in proceedings before a statutory alternative dispute resolution body. The former EU online dispute resolution platform is no longer available.
