Route ideas

Save the route before the schedule is fixed

A route plan keeps a promising route and selected places together without pretending that the trip is already scheduled.

A route plan is a reusable idea

Keep several possibilities, refine the one that works and create a trip only when the practical details are ready.

  • Save a route you found in the route finder together with its selected campsites.
  • Rename, edit, archive, restore or delete route plans as the collection changes.
  • Create a trip from a plan while keeping the original plan available.
Caravanios lists campsites along a route with the detour, the point on the journey, a short description and recorded facilities.

Why plans stay separate from trips

No schedule required

A route idea can remain useful before departure dates, bookings or overnight stays are confirmed.

Reusable starting point

One plan can support more than one later trip and is not consumed by trip creation.

GPX as a starting point

A supported GPX file can be read locally on the device to create a route plan.

Example: keep two ways to Croatia

Save one route through Slovenia and another through Italy without scheduling either. When departure dates are agreed, create a trip from the chosen plan and keep both ideas.

A route plan does not contain trip operations

Dated stops, costs, preparation and public sharing belong to a trip. A route plan is not a booking, a public itinerary or a printable pre-departure report.

Questions about route plans

Can I edit a saved plan?

Yes. You can change its name and route points, and archive or restore it.

Does creating a trip remove the plan?

No. The plan remains available.

Can I share a route plan publicly?

No. The public link is created from a trip, not from a route plan.

Keep the next route idea

Search a route, select useful campsites and save the result before the dates are fixed.
